Dr. Anita Tieman, ED.D., L.P.C., L.M.F.T

After serving in the military for seven years, Anita went back to school at Virginia Tech. She graduated with her doctorate in Counseling Education in 1991. Having worked as the Executive Director of the Tidewater AIDS Crisis Taskforce, a health educator with the Virginia Department of Health, a counselor with CONTACT Peninsula (a suicide and sexual assault crisis center), and as the Director of the Counseling Center at a local university, Anita brings a broad world view to her counseling practice.

Anita’s special areas of interest are adolescent mental health, gender communications, personality type, grief issues, life transitions, and most recently, Life Coaching. Anita sees the world through the perspective of humor and loves to have fun.
